The Battle

The horrid forewind wails

as it ruffles trees and rattles windows.

Slamming doors in the house.

Black clouds tumble over the sky

as the sigh of the wind and trees increases.

White power slices across the sky as war arises.

Soft rain trickles and drips lightly

then crashes hard and heavy.

White flashes

more silver power.

Gods are at war in the evil veil of cloud.

Thunder sounds as their power streaks down

to mortal man as cracks in the wall

between our two worlds.

The clamour and hiss of their great horses

as they charge along their world’s surface

in the sky.

Then the Gods take their clouds and deeds elsewhere

so as not to harm the innocent mortals below.
